Condolences
Right on the Monday Morning i will show up grinning Kents first words would be Kwabena, Dont say a any thing about my Seahawks. He loved his music, also walked around with a pocket full of Hersey Chocolate Kisses Candy and just gave them out. Never took time off sick and always cheerful.
He would be missed, not only my the team but by every one who knew him.
For the 8 years we have worked together, you inspired me and other workmates alike. You were warm, gentle, kind and charming, yet passionate and sharp minded. A true gentleman. You were never late for work, neither did you call in sick. An incredibly generous man who made a contribution, towards buying desks for a multitude of students at my former school in Zimbabwe. My family and I will miss you immensely, Uncle Kent, as my daughters used to call you. RIP Gentle Giant.
Seattle Seahawks, Liverpool FC & Sunderland FC have all lost a true fan!

Kent's memory will stay with me perhaps for a long time. He wasn't just a staff member to me but a good friend.
I will always remember the Hershey's kisses that he will always leave on my desk whenever he drops by my office if I am not around or that he would toss and I would have to catch if I am in my office.
I will remember him along with tennis grand slam tournaments as we will talk about the players - both men and ladies.
I will miss his dedicated service - never missing work (until his struggle in 2021) and always thinking about Calgary Transit as he scheduled his vacations around his peak periods and giving me fair warning when he took an extended vacation for the first time back in 2018.
A gentle soul ... I hope he has found peace.
Kent - I’ll think of you every time I turn on my TV which you so generously gifted me. And when I play CDs on the little player in the kitchen and especially the 180 or so that came with it. When I listed the CDs Bonnie Raitt wasn’t there and i knew you’d given some to your other friends. I was a bit disappointed because she was my favourite - then I discovered it in the player. You were a good rival to me in music trivia - especially stuff from the 80s. I’ll especially remember you in the mornings when my 9:00 o’clock alarm sounds and it’s Broken Halos. I’ll remember you when I drink Fever Tree Ginger Beer and when my son is yelling at the Seahawks on the TV. RIP Kent
Kent - there are no words! Ok, maybe some….
When I heard about your passing, I was in shock, and will be for some time to come.
I love your big heart, quirky sense of humour, generosity, compassion, and dedication to your work (you’re the only person I know who was rewarded for yearly attendance, even when you were devastated).
Oh, and not to mention your amazing knowledge of all things sports, music and musicians past and present, especially your love of the Seattle Seahawks, that soccer team - can’t remember which one cause I don’t like soccer, Springsteen and Stapleton (Staplesteen LOL), and don’t forget “DUUHHH” (I don’t have anyone, anymore, trying to beat me to say that word whenever that song starts), “NO NO NO” and “What kind of F*&6ery is this”
I will continue to listen to “YMCA” daily and laugh about how much you disliked that song.
I hope that you and your Mom are causing some trouble together and living it up!
To say you will be missed is an understatement.
May you forever Rest In Peace in paradise my brilliant friend.
Whenever I saw Kent it was always a pleasure to talk to him. We had so many laughs. Last time I ran into him was in Spulombos not to long ago. I’m so glad we had a picture taken. He was such a good friend to Loretta and Al. I will miss hearing all about Kent and his antics. Sending my warm thoughts and condolences to all who knew him. Very saddened by his loss. Mental illness is a misunderstood disease. We need to have more care, understanding and easier access to our healthcare system.
We have so many Memories with Kent - Al was his friend for over 25 years and once I met Kent we were instant friends. We would Holiday with Kent - Cuba, Vegas, Arizona, Mexico, he traveled to many other counties and he was fluent in Spanish. He had a contagious laugh and we laughed a lot. Kent loved to play Golf and every game was an adventure he could hit a golf ball such a long distance - amazing Drives - Once in Mexico he hit a ball so far he asked the caddy - Where did that ball go "the caddy replied Sorry Senior no one every hit a ball that far before" - we never found it - We all had a good laugh. Kent Loved all sports most of all Basketball I remember he took his Mom to a Basketball game in Seattle - she also liked the game. Kent and his Mom (Carol) were very close. He missed his Mom dearly and every year we would all get together to remember Carol. There was never a Christmas that he miss coming to see us. Kent really had a kind soul and he fought his Mental Illness, unfortunately he lost his battle. No answer why these things happen not even his Doctors had an explanation. Our hearts are saddened by your loss. You will be missed. Love Al and Loretta
Thanks for all the laughs over the years Higs! We're gonna miss that sharp wit and friendly demeanor. Rest in Peace my friend.
So sorry for your loss!! Kent leaves incredible memories behind for so many! His sarcasm, laughter and positive attitude was infectious. He will be greatly missed❤️
For my birthday one year Kent, Rob and I took a weekend trip to Golden. Got up early and went white-water rafting. Kent’s favourite part was when the European girls stripped out of their wet bathing suits at the back of the bus after. He also introduced us to the Golden Golf Course where the biggest black bear we ever saw cut across our fairway. He was a thoughtful funny sarcastic bastard. And a damn fine short stop. Rest In Peace FF.
I’m so sorry to hear of his passing, I have so many wonderful memories with him. I Remember when he taught my daughter when she was little “Go Shithawks” we have been saying it for 22 years now. He was a wonderful person would give you the shirt off his back. Rest easy my friend I love you. I will miss you so much xoxo
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Higdon family. Kent was a funny, quick witted, sarcastic guy whos company I always enjoyed. He will be missed by many and never forgotten.
Rest easy Higgy, I hope they have hockey pools in Heaven!
