Marie Claire Fradette (nee Beliveau), passed away in the loving arms of her family on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the age of 91.


Mom will be greatly missed by her children, Louis (Karen), Rosanne, Claude (Deanna), Paul (Patti), Lise, and Richard (Heather); eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; as well as her loving sisters, Sr. Marie-Paule, Rose (Jerry), Lynn, and Celina (Barry). Claire was predeceased by her husband Romeo (1995), her son Mike (2018), and her brothers, Rosaire, Paul, and Louis.


Claire was born near Ponteix, SK and married in Radville. They moved to Calgary in 1964 and owned Hillhurst Grocery & Hardware for many years. Living with MS, Claire accomplished much throughout her life. Mom founded Claire's Custom Draperies and had great success for over a decade. She was very involved with helping new refugees through Corpus Christi Church/CCIS and received the Award of Merit medal by the R.C. Diocese of Calgary.


She was loved deeply by her family and blessed with many dear friends. Special thanks to Dr. Agnes Thompson and Cambrian Pharmacy for many years of exceptional care, as well as Razel Gagno and Arian Schorr, Mom’s in-home care angels over the past year.


Friends wishing to pay their respects may do so at a Concelebrated Funeral Mass at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. , with prayers starting at 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Pl NW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
