Obituary of Richard Scott Bothwell

Richard “Scott” Bothwell, beloved husband of Janet Bothwell (nee Hilton), of Calgary, AB, passed surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the age of 70 years.

Scott had the titles of husband, father, father-in-law, son, brother, uncle, friend, Ho Dumpty, GUS, Scotty, and Grumpa (Grandfather).

Scott was a devoted firefighter for 28 years with CFD. He loved his career and always said, "You'll never get rich being a firefighter, but you'll be rich in comradery". He was a hero to many, particularly to his sons Kyle and Clayton (Allysa), and his wife of 46 years, Janet.

Scott loved golf, hockey, cars, gardening (particularly Bonsai trees), and spending quality time with his family, especially playing with his Grandson, Little O. In the past two years, Oaklan was his best medicine. 

Scott's family wishes to thank the amazing medical teams he had; Dr. Shumate and Lynnwood medical staff, oncology teams at Tom Baker, the staff at South Health Campus, and the AHS palliative team.
