Dearest Joan. We are heartbroken to hear of the loss of your/our Bob. This news came as a shock last night in a text sent by daughter-in-law, Cindy Roberts, advising us of Bob's passing. Gord, and his family, benefited greatly throughout their loss of their wife/mother, Sue Roberts, in 1994, with other extended family members also being benefactors of Bob's guiding light, which constantly shines through from his sparkling blue eyes. Through the Roberts' connection, a few years later, Gord and I met you and Bob as we were planning our marriage. It was a true delight, having experienced Bob's divine and common sense advice as he guided us through his pre-marriage course, as well as officiating at the ceremony, which made it extra special and meaningful. During this process, we met you, Joan, and were thrilled to have you play your magical harp during our wedding service. That was 26 years ago...with our anniversary upcoming this week, June 22. Hard to believe. We also shared time together at musical events, dinners and casual get-togethers but then life took us West to Radium, then to Nanoose Bay, Vancouver Island and six years ago to Victoria, where we finally retired and pinch ourselves for being in such a gorgeous place at this time in our lives. We have Bob to thank for setting us in the right direction...as well as the two of you for providing the inspiration and example of what true love and devotion are. May Bob rest in peace, pain-free, big smile in place, watching over his massive flock, especially you, Joan. Please accept our sincere condolences and love during this sad time. God bless you as you move forward without Bob at your side, but we know he will be lovingly with you always.
