Obituary of Stephanie Krakana

Stephanie Krakana, beloved wife of the late Irvin Krakana, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the age of 93 years.
Stephanie was born in Timmons, ON, on December 26, 1928, to a family of ten children. She moved to Calgary, AB, in 1987, but lived in the Yukon for many years. She taught herself how to be a successful goldsmith and was a very creative person who also loved to knit and crochet.
Stephanie will be remembered as a great homemaker and caregiver. She cared for her mother, father, and husband until their ends. Stephanie also raised her grandson Demetro, who has predeceased her and will be laid to rest with his grandmother. Demetro worked at Glenn’s Café & Memories Bar for many years as a bartender and stopped two robberies at his neighborhood liquor store, receiving a Police Chief Award for helping his community in 2010. He is survived by his mother Donna Krakana, and daughter Kayla Madunovic.
Stephanie is survived by her daughter Donna Krakana; three sisters, Helen Semanyk of Ottawa, ON, Mena Beauchamp of Sudbury, ON, and Sophie Turner of B.C.; three grandchildren, Vera Rose, Kathleen, and William, all of ON; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Stephanie was predeceased by her loving husband Irvin, her son David Krakana, and grandson Demetro.
Graveside Services will be held at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery (243208 Garden Road, Rocky View No.44, AB), on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
