HEMPEL, Mary (nee Kiprick)

July 10, 1937 – Beiseker, Alberta

June 6, 2022 – Strathmore, Alberta

 

Mary Hempel (nee Kiprick), of Strathmore, AB, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at the age of 84 years.

 

Mary was born and raised in Beiseker, AB, after school she married Harvey Hempel.  Mary and Harvey raised their family in Beiseker, AB and resided there until relocating to Strathmore, AB in 2008.  Mary enjoyed sports and was active in curling and baseball and she was a member of the CWL.

 

Mary is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Joanne Hempel of Bircham, AB, Keith and Susan Hempel of Drumheller, AB, Troy and Jacealyn Hempel of Calgary, AB; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Faron Hermanson of Strathmore, AB; eight grandchildren, Chelsea Hermanson (Noah), Stephanie Baird (Joel), Scott Hempel, Joel Hermanson, Brett Hempel (Karlie), Joryn Hempel, Maddyn Hempel, and Jackz Hempel; and three great-grandchildren, Taya Baird, Landon Baird, and Sadie Shipman.

 

Mary is also survived by her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Joan Kiprick of Lethbridge, AB, and Harold and Brenda Kiprick of Calgary, AB; her sister, Theresa Hagel of Calgary, AB, and her three sisters-in-law, Audrey Hempel of Beiseker, AB, Violet Hempel of Strathmore, AB, and Shirley Hempel of Red Deer, AB. 

 

Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harvey Hempel, her daughter-in-law, Dilleen Hempel, her parents Katie and Joe Kiprick, and her brother Jerry Kiprick.

 

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Beiseker, AB on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Beiseker, AB.  Reception to follow at the Beiseker Community Centre.   Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
