Obituary of Keith Lemon
June 1, 1948 - Regina, Saskatchewan
June 22, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta
Keith Lemon beloved husband of Jean Lemon (Simpson) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the age of 74 years.
Keith was born in Regina, SK to Ruth and James Lemon on June 1, 1948. He grew up on the farm near Glenavon, SK with his four siblings. After high school, he attended Moose Jaw Technical for 1 year. In 1969 he moved to Calgary to attend SAIT where he enrolled in the automotive program. He was employed at Jack Carter Chev Olds for 30 years doing drivability. He then worked at CMP for 3 years followed by Shaganappi Chev for 10 years as a Shop Foreman. He retired in 2012.
He met Jean Simpson in 1970 and the two were married October 16, 1971. A daughter Andrea was born in 1976 and son Grant was born in 1979. Keith enjoyed coaching his son’s hockey and daughter’s soccer teams. He was president of Southwood Community Association in 1987.
Keith enjoyed touring England and parts of Europe with his wife in 1973. They also travelled to Cuba, the U.S. as well as many years camping and going to music concerts. He was a big fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, doing stained glass, word working, and repairs for friends and family.
Jean and Keith celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 16, 2021.
Keith is survived by wife Jean, daughter Andrea (Jeremy Thiessen), grandson Rylan, son Grant, brothers Don (Valma) of Manitoba, Bob (Joan) of British Columbia, John (Vivian) of Saskatchewan, sister Rilla Kapell of Saskatchewan, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and his Aunt Beth.
He was predeceased by his parents Ruth and Jim Lemon.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway, Deerfoot South (12281 – 40 Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow in the hospitality center of the funeral home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
