Obituary of Jo-lee Jacobs

April 5,1975 - June 27, 2022

It’s with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, daughter, cousin, niece and friend Angela “Jo-lee” Jacobs.

She was the daughter of the late Judi and Jackson Jacobs. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Daniel-Jade, Jaya, Isabelle (Izzy), Isaiah, Navada, M’taya, and Emily (her Precious); her nieces, Heaven-Leigh, Ava and Angie Jo (Nana Bug); her nephews, Brooklin, Josiah, Joah, and Colby; her siblings, Jacklin (Morley), Jameson, and Patriece; and her Godmother, Wendy Big Plume.

She was raised with Audra (Keevin) Simeon Rider, Jason Simeon, Trisha (Garret) Simeon, Paul (Sarah) Meguinis, Todd (Yolanda) Meguinis, Leeroy (Beverly) Meguinis, and Virgil Simeon.

Her children, her sister Jackie and brother Jim, were her world, they meant everything to her. She was such a loving, caring, crazy and charismatic person. She helped raise her nieces and nephews and growing up she was very protective of her siblings. She was a big sister and friend to many. She married at the young age of 20 years old and chose to put her family first before reaching her long term career goals. She attended school in Calgary and graduated from the Bullhead Adult Learning Centre on Tsuut’ina Nation.

Jo-lee was friends with so many walks of life, she loved big and always had such an amazing heart, welcoming all that came in her direction. Never shy of the outcome of the adventure and always willing to make the best of the situation, which is why she is loved and will be missed by all. She is also survived by the Jacobs, Simeon, Dodginghorse, Manywounds, Meguinis, Big Plume, Pipestem, Big Crow, Crowchild families of the Tsuut’ina Nation, as well as many relatives from the Stoney Nakoda First Nation and the Six Nations Reserve.
