Obituary of Lois Mary Sunley

SUNLEY, Lois Mary (nee Post)

November 25, 1950 – Fort Churchill, Manitoba

July 2, 2022 – Edmonton, Alberta

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the loss of Lois Sunley (nee Post) of Edmonton, AB. Lois passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the age of 71 years. She was a sister, a mother, a nanna, an artist, and an author, but most importantly, she was a friend. Her openness and sense of humour made it easy to spend time with her, share thoughts, and confide in her. She was always there for anybody, whenever they needed her. Family and friends around the world will miss her dearly.

Lois was born the youngest of six in Fort Churchill, MB, on November 25, 1950, to parents Olive and Clarence Post. She also lived in Banff and Calgary but spent most of her life in Edmonton, AB, where she raised her family.

Lois left behind her children, Michael (Cheryl) and Gregory (Brandie); daughter-in-law Liza; grandchildren, Jerrick, Benjamin, and Gabriella; sisters, Patricia (Roger), Velma, and Sheila; brother Franklin (Mila); and her many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Olive (2003) and Clarence (1979), and her brother Ralph (2011).

The family wishes to extend special thanks to many friends and family and most specifically to the amazing staff and volunteers at the Pilgrims – Roozen Family Hospice Centre in Edmonton.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to this wonderful organization as they provided comfort and compassionate support to Lois’ family and friends, allowing her to leave this world with dignity and peace.
