William “Bill” Etty of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the age of 94 years.

 

Bill was born in Galahad, AB, on August 21, 1927. He married Dora Dartt in 1960 in Castor, AB. He was a member of the IBEW most of his adult life and was an active volunteer in the agriculture barns at the Calgary Stampede. While he lived in the city, Bill remained a country boy at heart. He was considered a father figure for many of his kid’s friends throughout their lives.

 

Bill is survived by his children, Brenton, Kaylyn (John) and Brad. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Leif and Finn; his sister Kathleen, as well as his several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his wife Dora Etty (nee Dartt), brothers George, Albert, and Ken.

 

A special thank you to our angel, Daniela Guayazan, who took amazing care and showed heartfelt love for our father in his last years.

 

A Funeral Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Bill's service streamed live (see below) on the day of the serviceReception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home at 11:15 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
