Obituary of Catherine Mary Marklund
October 28, 1954 - Regina, Saskatchewan
July 16, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine “Cathy” Marklund, beloved wife of Brett Marklund, of Calgary, AB, on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the too young age of 67 years.
Cathy was born in Regina, SK on October 28, 1954, to the late Isabelle and Bernie Grebinsky. She will always be remembered for her long career with the Calgary Stampede and as the ‘go-to’ Box Office and ticketing contact for many. A busy mom, she excelled in her full-time job, while juggling soccer-mom duties, keeping the family fed and their home in one piece despite the efforts of her kids, husband, and the family dog. She dabbled in winemaking and enjoyed working on her golf game with friends and her husband. Cathy was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 36 years Brett; their children, Kelsey (Kyle Wilson) and Cale (Crystal Bartkowski), her brother Jeff Grebinsky (Donna), sister-in-law Lori Marklund, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
