April 30, 1972 – Calgary, Alberta

July 22, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

With great sadness, we announce that Kari Olesen (nee Ahearn), beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend, has passed from cancer at home in Calgary, AB, on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the age of 50 years. Kari will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 22 years, Peter; daughters and son, Anna, Sarah, and Andrew, and parents, Larry and Sharon Ahearn, siblings, Michael Ahearn and Lori Ahearn, in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends and family.

Kari was born and raised in Calgary, AB, and completed her bachelor’s degree in Business Finance and Insurance and Risk at the University of Calgary in 1994, where she met her future husband, and completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Alberta in 1997. Friends from all her schools live in the remembrance of her radiance of joy and goodness.

Kari articled in law and started her career in family law practices, and valued friends from each until her passing. She had a soft kind humour and became friends with all who knew her. Kari is proud to have grown professionally for over 18 years in her career at Enbridge Inc. in corporate law where so many of her co-workers treasured her as a professional colleague, mentor, and friend, and she, in turn, treasured them.

Kari has so much to be proud of, and we are so happy to have known her. Kari was and will be forever proud and loving of her three children, whom she raised by example, to continue to be ambassadors of kindness, caring, and love.

Thank you for every day and everything you have brought to us Kari! I love you! We love you! We are blessed to have known you, and you are blessed in your passing.
