Obituary of Barry William Hicks

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Hicks of Calgary, AB on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the age of 80 years, after a short illness.
Barry was born to Ronald and Laura Hicks (nee Drake) in Winnipeg, MB on September 7, 1941. He spent most of his life residing in Calgary. Barry was an only child and took great enjoyment with music, old movies, and scripture. Barry always saw the positives in life, despite the many challenges he faced. He was always kind and gentle to everyone. Many described Barry as a sweet soul.
Barry is survived by many loving cousins: Brenda Aiken of Calgary, Catherine Ozier of Florida, Laura Mergen of Calgary, Karen Fawcett of Calgary, and Raye Hoover of Texas. Barry was predeceased by his parents, Ronald, and Laura Hicks of Calgary, AB.
A Funeral Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
