Obituary of Sherry Lee Barrett

June 19, 1959 – Iserlohn, Germany

July 29, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Sherry Lee Barrett, aged 63, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2022, in Calgary AB.  She is survived by her loving husband Brad Barrett, children Travis Cunningham, partner Heather Godfrey and soon to be granddaughter, Jennifer (Child-Dallas 15), Megan Cunningham and partner David Sinclair (Children-Kenyne, Gabriel and Emery) stepchildren Kristie Tait and husband Gary (Children-Dustin, Logan and Lily) and Vance Barrett and wife Kim (Children-Tanika, Coral and Lincoln) and siblings Ken Armstrong (Michelle) and Tracy Colonna, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents Janice and Bill Armstrong her brother Alan Armstrong, grandmother Vivian (Granny) Armstrong and Len Armstrong (Granddad).

She was born in Iserlohn, Germany where she lived for her first two years. She moved to Calgary 1961, graduating from Central Memorial High School in 1977. 

Sherry married Arthur Cunningham July 23, 1977, whom she shares three children with, Travis, Jennifer, and Megan Cunningham. Sherry and Art amicably divorced on July 23, 1997, after 20 years of marriage. They continued to share a close friendship, remaining in each other’s lives celebrating many family holidays together and always put family first.

Sherry married Brad Barrett on July 3, 1999. Combining the two families was easy for Sherry, she always had a huge heart and lots of love to give.That Nana love grew with each of the grandchild born. She will be remembered for her contagious warm smile, laughter and the kindness in her eyes and soul.
