Condolences
My condolences to Sue and family. I first met George upon his arrival in Carlyle Sask as Staff Sargent of the RCMP. George and Sue arrived in Carlyle and immediately embraced their new community. George supported the community in many ways and personally I watched and learned from a great man. George was always supportive and never afraid to offer his time to all walks of life. He led by example and I recall him strapping on his football cleats to participate in a community game of flag football with the RCMP playing against the Kenosee Young Offenders and Staff. Whether he was using his free time to coach the Senior hockey team, stopping in at the Kenosee Youth Camp to have a coffee with the boys or offering words of wisdom to young men such as myself, George always had a reassuring demeanour letting us all know that life is good. Thanks for being there George.
Don Johnson.
To the Francis family. Please accept my heartfelt condolences with the passing of your beloved George. George coached our Yorkton S/Div. Hockey Team and also Div. Hockey Teams. He was a great coach, mentor and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Sue and family, very sorry to hear of your husbands passing. Al has been gone since May 06 2021 and it is a difficult time for us and hope you will call me if you need to talk. Sincerely Sandra Bunn
Was shocked to read of George's passing. He was a top friend at Swift Current, and I really regret not getting together
after all these years. I still have the Newfoundland coins he gave me way back when. Our sincere condolances to Susan and the family.
Edna and I are so sorry to hear of George’s passing.
We got to know George and Sue during his time in Swift Current.
I also got to know George as one of about 6-8 single men living together in barracks upstairs at Swift Current S/Div HQ.
We were all relatively new to policing and generally worked long hours - but we also found time to have a lot of fun in barracks.
Those of us fortunate enough to have known George at this time will remember him as dedicated to his work (and Sue) and a friend to all with a great sense of humour - tears of laughter may still accompany the recollection of his routine on our weekly barrack-room clean-up days.
While the time in Swift Current lasted a number of years we all knew that transfers would eventually send us all in different directions and on to new and adventures - and so it was and that chapter of our lives ended - but the memories last forever.
To Sue and family we send our prayers, thoughts and love with sincere condolences.

Val and I are sad to hear of George's passing and express our deepest condolences. I came to Milestone with 6 months out of training and, with the assistance of Al Hopper, with less service than me, drove George around the bend at times, not putting oil in the detachment lawnmower, burning a hole in the police car seat with the spotlight, leaving the handy weapon of jumper cables in the back seat, taking $5 from the cash box because there were no pennies and leaving an expense claim for $5.03, resulting in George spending two days looking for his addition error in the ledger......the list goes on. In exchange, George taught us what it meant to be a part of a community through caring about the people, participation in community events and being a good person. No better example on how to succeed in life. We were so lucky he saw the grain of potential in us and led us to success.
Sorry to hear of George’s passing Sue. Condolences also to Margaret Ann, Marcie, Ron, Craig and Jeff. George did his profession proud and am sure all of you were very proud of him. He now is at peace and never forgotten.
Aunt Sue, Margaret Ann, Marica, Ronald, Craig and Jeff my thoughts and prayers and with you all.
I'm finding this so hard to write. To focus on one of so many wonderful memories. But I hold those close to my heart. Seeing the picture even though I don't remember it I was told so many times. I was two or 3 and we went to the RCMP graduation ceremony. I was so excited to see uncle George I charged out on to the field, the person in charge wasn't happy and said who owns this. Uncle George replied I do sir. As I said so many memories. You'll always be alive in my memories. You are reunited with family and Sinbad your horse your first partner in the RMCP
Lovingly
Chuck Francis
Our deepest condolences to all of George’s family. Carey & I have a lot of fond memories involving George, as a Staff Sgt, as an umpire, a coach, and more. One absolutely knew when he called strikes or someone out with that gravelly voice that carried so well.
He was a fair but vigilant & proud RCMP officer, and it was no surprise to read about him helping for as long as he could. May you find strength in one another during this next while.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle George. My heart goes out to all of you. I have found memories of time spent in Grand Bank on summer vacation just being with family. I have a special vision of Uncle George and Dad (Sidney) playing soccer together. They sure did love the game as well as many other sports and were faithful fans of the "Leafs". Take care and may the many memories you have comfort you during this time.
