Obituary of Rosalinda Toledo Cruz
September 4, 1949 – San Fernando, Philippines
August 7, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
Rosalinda Cruz, beloved wife of Alfredo Cruz, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the age of 72, due to complications with her long-time battle with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy).
Rosalinda was born in San Fernando, Philippines, on September 4, 1949. In Manila, she received her BSc in Nursing shortly before immigrating to Canada in 1975. Rosalinda and Alfredo met in Edmonton, AB, and were married on June 25, 1977. A couple of years later, they moved their new family to Calgary, AB.
Besides her loving husband, Rosalinda is survived by her two sons, Jeff and John; two daughters-in-law, Aiofe and Karina; her four grandchildren, Finn, Andres, Theo, and Vicente; and her four siblings, Bert, Ben, Carmelita, and Tess.
Rosalinda loved to cook and garden. At home, she could be found in the kitchen whipping up amazing dishes, or in the yard tending to her garden. In 2015, Rosalinda was diagnosed with PSP, which slowly took away her ability to do the things she loved.
Rosalinda was many things to many people: daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. No matter who she was to us, she’ll be remembered for her fiery spirit and passion to do good.
