Obituary of Joyce Edith Thatcher

Joyce Thatcher beloved wife of Barry Thatcher passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the age of 77 years, surrounded by her family.

Joyce was born in St. Catharines, ON on March 22, 1945. She was the beloved daughter of Elsie and Bamford Bryson.

She was a big hearted, compassionate, loving lady. She loved to go camping, was an amazing swimmer, cook, dancer, and enjoyed playing boardgames and cards. Her favorite moments she cherished was family gatherings, playing with her great-grandchildren. She really knew how to make you smile and laugh, and had a special place in everyone’s hearts.

Joyce will be sadly missed by her husband of 57 years Barry Thatcher. Joyce is survived by her one daughter Nicole Aquila; her two sons, Scott and Jason Thatcher; her granddaughter Felicia (Jonathan) DiGirolamo; and her two great-grandchildren, Elayna and Paisley DiGirolamo. Joyce is also survived by her one sister Darlene (Herb) Klassen; her two brothers, Jim (Darlene) Bryson, and Bruce (Audrey) Bryson.

The family would like to thank Foothills Hospital for their wonderful care for Joyce.
