Obituary of Myrna Leah McDonald (née Henderson)

July 11, 1947 - Penetanguishene, Ontario

August 9, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Myrna Leah McDonald (née Henderson) died peacefully with the assistance of MAID at her home in Calgary on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at the age of 75, surrounded by friends and family.

Myrna was born on July 11, 1947 in Penetanguishene, ON and attended school in Calgary. She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Don McDonald, her son by marriage, Ross McDonald (Susan), her son, Ian Harrad (Lou); her grandchildren, Christian, Sarah Cassidy (Cameron Chell), and Hannah McDonald (Luc Bregg), Parker and Angelina Harrad, Alyssa Almeida, Tella and Libby Osler; her great-grandchildren, Harper, Wyatt, Cash and Carter Chell, Waylon and Frances Bregg.

Myrna will be remembered for her laughter, her generous heart and her joy in hosting a party. She was particularly close to her beloved nieces and nephews, Meghan, Riley, Jordan, and Kimberlee Maruyama. Myrna predeceases her mother, Helen Henderson, her sister, Lynn (Dean Maruyama) and her brother, Russ (Vicki and family). Her late aunt Ethel Wall of Newmarket, Ontario was like a second mother to Myrna, and Lorraine and Gary Edwards were there for Myrna when she needed them most.
