Obituary of Kay Coyston

Kathleen “Kay” Coyston (nee Jackson), of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at the age of 93 years.

 

Kay married Art on June 7, 1949. They raised their family in Winnipeg before relocating to Calgary in 1969. Kay was a long-time member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church where she sang in the choir, volunteered her time and donated to St. Vincent de Paul.

 

She was an avid golfer and beautiful singer. Kay loved to curl and was known for her crafts. Many of her handiworks are in the homes of family and friends. With her flair for fashion and interior design, Kay was always put together and helped others get that way as well. She loved to cook and passed on her culinary talents and recipes to her family. Kay was known for her great laugh and sense of humour.

 

Kay is survived by her children, Sharon, Jim (Trish), and Geoff (Diane); grandchildren, Stephanie (Elijah), Jessica (Greg), Emma (Chris), and Kevin; and great-grandchildren, Hailey, Jaxon, and Rylin.

 

Kay was predeceased by her husband Art in 1982; and granddaughter Jennifer in 2016.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E., Calgary, AB) on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace.  Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
