Obituary of Wayne Juel Berg

May 20, 1933 - August 13, 2022

 

Wayne Juel Berg, 89, beloved husband of Jan, passed away peacefully with his wife at his bedside. He was a loving husband, a true gentleman and a caring, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

 

Wayne was born near Bromhead, SK at his family home on the farmland, to Caroline and Marvin Berg. He moved to Calgary in 1962 with Louise and his four children. He worked in the Oil and Gas Industry at Otis Pressure Control and Cenalta. He established his own Wireline Company Tri-Alta Tool in 1978. He retired in 1988 at the age of 55.

 

Wayne is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jan Berg, his sister Sharon Harde; his four children, Patti Berg (Ron Tryon), Cindy Stafford, Jason Berg, Susan Berg (Greig Waldman); his stepchildren, Troy Welch (Deborah Huber) and Laura Diemert (Brent Diemert). He was also blessed to have loving grandchildren, Curtis, Adrian, Alyshia, Regen, Ryan, Abygail, Jaida and Cole, and great-grandchildren, Blakely and Keaton. He was predeceased by his first wife, Theresa Louise Berg, his parents Carrie and Marvin Berg and brother Hartley Berg.

 

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Tom Baker Cancer Centre or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
