Obituary of Elmer Janzen

May 16, 1944 – Winkler, Manitoba

August 18, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Elmer Janzen, beloved husband of Geraldine “Gerri” Janzen (nee Dyck) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the age of 78 years.

Elmer spent his career in the transportation industry and was recognized with many awards for his dedication to safety. He logged many miles throughout Canada and the United States and was able to enjoy diverse landscapes of both countries with his wife Gerri. They married on April 21, 1962.

Elmer had a passion for hockey whether it was him playing as a young person or as an observer in later years. A couple of favourite vacations were to Cancun to celebrate his 50^th Anniversary with his wife Gerri or most recently a vacation in the sunshine on Maui.

Elmer is survived by his loving wife Gerri, his son Sheldon (Cheryl) of Calgary, daughter Robin Yeager (Mark) of White Rock, BC. Grandchildren, Alysha, Shae Lynn (Janzen) of Calgary, Grandson Dylan Yeager (Madison), great grandson Collins Yeager of Niceville, Florida.

Elmer is predeceased by his parents John J Janzen (father) and Helen Janzen (nee Fehr, mother), infant sister Elma and sister Esther.

Elmer will be sadly missed by his family and all who loved him.
