Obituary of Victor Borisenko
August 4, 1946 - August 21, 2022
Victor Borisenko passed away peacefully at the Fanning Centre in Calgary where he was a resident for the past 10 months.
A lifetime resident of Canmore, Vic spent his early working years with Canmore Mines until it’s closing. He then spent the next 30 years of working life with Lafarge Canada in Exshaw.
Fishing and camping trips, horses, snowmobiling - Vic loved the outdoor life. He loved the Movies and TV, but his favorite was watching WWE Wrestling. He was such a fan. He loved his trips to Hawaii, but visiting the home of Elvis in Graceland was a true highlight in his life.
Family was very important to Vic. He loved the family holiday dinners, where we would gather together. Vic will be missed by his sister Vera, brother-in-law Leon Dyrgas, their children, Stephen (Teresa), Nadine (Patrick); nephew Gabe;
sister Valentina Sanghakorn, and her child Arek (India); and brother Valentin Borisenko, and his children, Sasha, Jovena and Elliot.
The family wishes to thank Dr. John Michalyshyn for Vic’s Canmore care over the years, and the compassionate, caring staff of 3E at the Calgary Fanning Centre, including Dr. R. Sharma and the Dialysis Centre.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held on August 29, 2022 officiated by Rev. Dmitry Grigoriev of the Russian Orthodox Church of All Saints. Vic will be interred at the Canmore Cemetery next to his Mother and Father, Nina and Alexander Borisenko. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.

IF ROSES GROW IN HEAVEN
If roses grow in Heaven dear Lord
Please pick a Bunch for me.
Place them in our Brother’s arms
And tell him they’re from me …his siblings
Please tell him that we Love and Miss him
And when he turns to Smile, Place a Kiss upon
His cheek
And Hold him for a while…
Because remembering him is Easy….
We do it every day…
But there is an ache within our hearts that will
Never go away…
In Loving memory of our Brother
Victor Borisenko
