Gale Elizabeth Dunphy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at the age of 63 years, surrounded by her loved ones. Gale died from complications that arose from a rare stroke she had in October 2021.

Gale attended Memorial University, graduating with both an Education and Physical Education degree in 1980. She continued her education with degrees from Mount Royal in both Electronic Publishing and Technical Writing, a Master of Arts from the University of Alberta in Communications and Technology, and diplomas from the University of Calgary in Public Relations, and in Occupational Health and Safety. Her curious nature, generous attitude and whip smart intelligence is what made a mark on hearts across Canada. She was well known for her dinner parties, her taste in art and antiques, her funny anecdotes and motivational wisdom.

She leaves behind her loving husband Jim of Calgary, daughter Heather (Kor Nielsen) of California, son James Alexander of Montreal, and her precious grandchildren, Devon, and Violet whom she loved with all her heart. Also mourning are Gale's Newfoundland family, her mother Elizabeth Crewe, brothers, Wade (Anita), and Bradley (Tracey); sisters, Jennifer (Walt Rose), and Lisa (Perry Muise); and nieces, Emma and Hannah Crewe, Julia Rose, and Jenny Dunphy.

She was an awesome woman. We are glad to have known her and so sad to have lost her so young.
