Obituary of Rosalia Julia Robinson

July 1, 1937 – Faust, Alberta

August 23, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

It’s with sadness that we announce the passing of Rosalia Julia Robinson (nee Wasylik) this past Tuesday morning at Foothills hospital where she went peacefully at the age of 85. She was born to the late Tillie and Joseph Wasylik, first generation Canadians, from Poland and the Ukraine respectively whose work ethic and love of family they passed down to our mom. She is survived by her 2 sons Aaron, his daughter Portia (Laurie Ellis), and Fiancée’ Shannon.  Mark, his children Sunny and Violet and Wife Patty.

Mom grew up knowing the values of hard work in Northern Alberta, Edmonton and the Faust area where she met her husband Alan and moved to Calgary in the 70’s where she remains today.

She raised her 2 sons mostly as a single parent and made the challenges that went along with it look effortless. Our mom started her career as a hand model and pivoted into being a professional commercial artist throughout most of her career life, but because she wanted more, the entrepreneurial bug got her and made a very successful transition to Calgary’s premiere balloon decoration and delivery service for decades.

For over 40 years our mom dedicated her life and time to her friend Bill W, her sobriety and helping those that sometimes could not help themselves, she was a guide, a mentor, a confidante, a great friend when you needed one, and most of all she was an unwavering stellar example of what a mother can be  in times of crisis, in times of love, in times of celebration. Now, we celebrate your life mom, you gave yours so we could have an amazing one. We will honor you every day. Do zobaczenia znów / до зустрічі
