Obituary of Rosario Mastroianni
October 5, 1939 – San Mango D’Aquino, Italy
September 5, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
Rosario Mastroianni passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, at the age of 82 years. Rosario married Emiranda on December 14, 1958, and together they immigrated to Canada in May 1962.
Rosario is survived by his children, Vincenza (Clint) Hatfield, Sylvana Mastroianni (Dwayne), Marisa (Sean) Lovitt; grandchildren, Terry (Trevor) Wieler, Anthony Hatfield (Janessa), William and Carmela Lovitt; great-grandsons Zachary and Theodore Wieler; his sister Maria (Frank) Folino of Golden, BC, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Rosario was predeceased by his wife, Emiranda, his parents Antonio and Vincenza Mastroianni; great-grandson Alexander Wieler, grandson David Willis, and two brothers, Frank and Mario Mastroianni.
Rosario was a hard worker and carried those strong work ethics throughout his entire life. Rosario loved his family dearly. Although we are saddened by his loss, we take comfort with the knowledge that he is with his Savior and pre-deceased relatives in Heaven.
Rosario will always be lovingly remembered by many families and friends whose lives he touched.
Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Church (835 Northmount Drive NW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum (3219 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB). Following the Graveside Service, relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Romanos Rustic Italian Restaurant (2626 – 23rd Street NE, Calgary, AB).
