Obituary of Eric James Anderson
March 31, 1973 – Kitchener, Ontario
September 22, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta
Eric Anderson of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully in the care of the Foothills Intensive Care unit medical team, on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the age of 49 years.
Eric was a humorous, fun loving and a kind soul. He was social, charming and had a beautiful smile. Eric enjoyed introducing himself to others, and always loved being invited to a party, especially when there was good snacks and coffee.
Eric spent his days volunteering and being involved at his day program with Chrysalis. Eric led a full life as an active volunteer for many places, namely Petland and the YMCA for many years. Eric loved going to out for coffee, it was a must in his daily life. He also participated in bowling and music and movement with the Learn Society, he was very proud of his independence.
Eric lived most of his life in Calgary, both with his family and dedicated caregivers in his adult life. Eric thrived in his family environments, he appreciated connection and fun with all those who supported him. Eric lived the last fifteen years with his caregivers Denise and Jason Manderson, and their children Tristan and Danika. He was very committed to spending all his holidays with his mother Evelyn, and his sisters, Paola, Sarah, and Julie. Eric loved his family vacation time.
Eric is survived by his mother, Evelyn Anderson; his sisters, Paola Michele Anderson (Mark Chung) of Lethbridge, AB, Sarah Marie Anderson (James Paulson) of Sylvan Lake, AB, and Julie Lisa Olivia Castrillion (Jesus Mario Castrillion) of Calgary AB. He was also survived by five nieces and nephews, Destiny, CJ, Maddaline, Maximo, and Tomas. Eric was predeceased by his father Thomas John Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Sylvan Lake Cemetery. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
