Obituary of Mary Jean Kirwan
June 7, 1935 – Gull Lake, Saskatchewan
September 25, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
Mary Kirwan (nee Logan), beloved wife of Dennis Kirwan, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the age of 87 years.
Mary was born in Gull Lake, SK, on June 7, 1935. After a short teaching career, Mary married Dennis on July 11, 1955, and together they raised two children. Mary was a member of the Central United Church in Calgary, AB, and would often volunteer at the Alberta Cancer Foundation and the Canadian Heart Association.
Besides her loving husband Dennis, Mary is survived by her daughter Jane Kirwan (Duncan), of Victoria, BC, her son Allan Kirwan, of Calgary, AB, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Mary is also survived by her four sisters, Betty Joy, Kathleen, Peggy, and Patty; her sister-in-law Shirley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Foster and Edith Logan, and her brother Bill Logan.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
