Obituary of Angela Wold

July 6, 1937 – Elie, Manitoba

September 26, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Angela Wold, who passed from this earth very peacefully in the presence of her family on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the age of 85 years.

Angela was a strong, loving, selfless soul who valued her family above all else. She will be sorely missed by her only daughter Lori, along with her beloved son-in-law Ian and her grandchildren, the true loves of her life, Jasper and Brie. Born in Elie, MB on July 6, 1937, Angela grew up with her parents, Eugene and Lilian Girard, and boarded at the Elie Convent with her sisters, Jeannine and Evenlyn “Bunny”, then went on to become an X-ray Technician. She married Jim and moved to Calgary on Waterloo Dr. to build their life in 1965.

Angela was an avid armchair sports fan, and you could always find her cheering on her favourites in golf, hockey, and curling. Her favourite time of year was Stampede, and she never missed attending and enjoying a corn dog and mini donuts with her family, from the time she arrived in Calgary until the pandemic. In her spare time, she loved to bake anything and everything for friends and family. Her true passion in life was her role as a mother and grandmother, taking care of her daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids along with their many animals.

Later in life, she joined the Bow Cliff Seniors and truly enjoyed all of the wonderful friendships that she formed there.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Wold’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Agape Hospice. Their compassionate care went above and beyond in providing peace and comfort to both Angela and her family during her final days.
