Jeffrey Bergl

Obituary of Jeffrey Michael Bergl

April 21, 1959 – Edmonton, Alberta

September 26, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that the family of Jeff Bergl announce his sudden passing on Monday, September 26, 2022. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Heather, of 38 years, his daughters, Jenna and Krysten; and his grandchildren, Hudson, Avery, and Cameron. Jeff also leaves to mourn his mother Joan, brother Tim (Mian), sisters, Joanne (Ray), and Rhonda (Ken); and eleven nieces, nephews, and their families. Jeff was predeceased by his hero and mentor, his father, Gordon.

Jeff was born in Edmonton, AB, on April 21, 1959. He moved to Calgary at a young age and resided there until his passing. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1977 and went on to dedicate his career to the construction industry, specializing in sheet metal and earning his CSO as a safety officer.

He was a kind and loving partner to his wife, Heather, as well as an amazing father and grandfather. He loved gardening, golf, and family gatherings where he was always the life of the party. When a Bee Gees or Celine Dion song is heard, his memory will live on through their music. He brought such positive energy to any room and made friends with everyone anywhere he went. His love of Star Trek, The Flintstones, Stampede Wrestling, and quoting favourite lines from Christmas Vacation will be forever in our memories. “Beam me up, Scottie”, and “Yabba Dabba Doo”, will never be heard the same way again.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Jeff's service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
