Condolences
I just learned of the sudden passing of Val; I have such an incredibly heavy as we mourn the loss a dear colleague. I first met Val about 10 years ago at a clinical hypnosis conference with the Alberta Clinical Hypnosis Society; a board I'm now president of and that Val was a part of, as Nominations Chair. Back in the day Val would host peer support/consultation groups at her office, smiling bringing a pot of tea and sweets up the stairs, that image of her sums up what I remember most, an easy smile, a laugh, a desire to help, connect and contribute. Val will be greatly missed, not just as a board member and colleague but as a light; she was a light to me, reassuring me when I stepped into my new role, always caring and kind. I want to extend my deepest condolences to Val's family, from myself, and my board, all who were equally shocked and saddened to hear of Val's passing. May she be playing and singing and feeling the love from all those who will miss her, as we truly do!

Val has been a healer, mentor, guide and friend to me for nearly 20 years. Her light is everlasting, and although she has left us far too soon, I know she continues to shine her magnificent light down on us. I wish to send my sincere condolences to all of Val’s family, who meant the world to her, and to everyone who’s hurting from this sudden and heartbreaking loss. I promise to make you proud, Val. I plan to follow in your footsteps and become a play therapist, and I’ll look into hypnosis programs as well, since we came to the conclusion that such a career would suit me, as well as it suited you. You will forever inspire me to dream big, and live, love, laugh. ♥️xox Michelle

I will miss my dear friend and sister in Christ, Val so much. I will miss that unmistakable laugh, that easy willing spirit to lend a hand to help with any task and that generous nature that would even cause a personal self-sacrifice to herself. I won't forget an enthusiastic Val who dragged me reluctantly to my first Stampede Parade in 1986, when Philip and I moved to Calgary. May the LORD remember Valerie for good in that day when Christ returns to the earth to reward his faithful servants.
Lovingly,
Her sister in Christ,
Faye

LOVE’S LASTING LEGACY
Whenever we lose a beloved family member or a close friend, we discover again that the deeper the love, the greater the loss, and the sharper the pain.
As time passes, the anguish slowly and gradually diminishes, while the special memories and the blessings of that relationship, these remain with us always, warming our hearts.
The grief is the small price we pay for so much happiness.
