Condolences
All my memories of Auntie Irene are wonderful! Kind, beautiful and so sweet. I remember she had us all excited painting "pet rocks" and decorating shirts with special fabric paints during our family reunions on Woods Lake in the Okanagan. She was a delight - always making us feel special.
My deepest sympathy for your losses my cousins and my gratitude and joy to have had this special person touch our lives.
Love,
Anne ( Hardy) Bishop
Our condolences to all of the Wahl family. Our mother treasured the pieces of art that Irene produced especially her pink painted rocks that adorned her garden. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
The Calon Family
Gary moved to Calgary the summer of 1985 to get a job after completing his degree at UVic. Uncle Leo and Aunt Ann graciously shared their home and helped him get a position at Husky Oil head office. About 6 months later, Aunt Irene and Uncle George made their home welcome to him until we were married in July 1986. That was a long time ago now, but the strong connection has always remained. After Uncle George’s passing in 2010, we were very happy she found her special companion, Bud, to enjoy many more great times and memories. Aunt Irene was gracious and elegant and talented in so many ways. We are lucky to have some very special artworks created by her to enjoy in our home. We believe she is now at peace and reunited with Uncle George, looking down at all of us with love. Love from Gary, Bernadette, Marell, and Maggie Butler ❤️
Your mom was such a beautiful spirit and will be greatly missed.

One of the kindest, gentlest souls out there and a very elegant lady. She will be missed but also celebrated for a life lived fully.
Aunt Irene was a very kind and classy lady, and was always an inspiration. Our condolences to the Wahl family. Tom and Elisabeth Chupick
Dear Wahl family,
so sorry to hear the sad news of Irene’s passing. I have a special place in my heart for her. She was always so kind and welcoming when I stayed at your home. She also took the time to sit and show me how to paint when I was a teenager. We have several of her beautiful art pieces around our home and I will always think of her and smile when I look at them. What a lady!
Our sympathy goes out to you all.
Love, Jackie and Ryan
My condolences to the Wahl family. Aunt Irene was a special person. I have a few of her paintings, including a country scene with the Chupick-Henry names on the mailboxes, which I love. Also, I inherited the bugaboo tree for the Chupick family which Aunt Irene made in 1974. It is displayed in my living room. I think of her when I see it. Aunt Irene and I got to spend some one-on-one time in August 2009 when we took a trip to Fremont, California to visit her ailing sister. I have many wonderful memories of Aunt Irene including from her visits to Victoria and at the Laturnus Family Reunions. May she rest in peace.
Sincere condolences on the passing of your dear mother and grandmother. She was a light. I enjoyed chatting with her whenever the big family got together for visits. Julie, Dave & I thoroughly enjoyed Irene's last visit with us at our home in Victoria in 2019. I felt a special artist to artist kinship with Irene; may she rest in eternal peace.

Jim and family...My truest heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beloved Mother... Much Love...Patrick and Kathy
My deepest condolences to Irene's family on the passing of an incredible person. My family was fortunate enough to get to know Irene through my Grandfather Bud Watson over the last several years. Irene was an incredibly personable and talented woman as we are also fortunate enough to be in possession of one of Irene's prints from a painting. It seems that every time I see the print I notice something new. I would like to express my gratitude in being able to meet Irene and spend time with her. She will be missed dearly.
