Shawna Krejcik-Rose

Obituary of Shawna Mae Krejcik-Rose

February 13, 1984 – Rocky Mountain House, Alberta

October 11, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Shawna Krejcik-Rose, beloved wife of Daniel Krejcik-Rose, announce her passing on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the age of 38 years. Shawna passed away peacefully in the company of family. Her joy and bright outlook on life, and her perseverance in the face of adversity will be dearly missed.

Along with Daniel, Shawna is survived by her parents, Archie and Karen Poleschuk; her brother Jason and his wife Jennifer; nieces and nephew, Adelyn, Adam, and Amelia; mother-in-law Sally Rose, sister-in-law Nicole Krejcik-Rose, and brother-in-law Robert Krejcik-Rose, nephew Dean, grandmother, Betty Krejcik; as well as her aunts and uncles, Rod and Lynn Hessdorfer, Merle and Warren Franklin, Linda and Lambert Stumborg, Lynda and Paul Cyr, and Greg Rose; along with numerous cousins.

Shawna was born in Rocky Mountain House, AB and lived in various locations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Alaska as her father was in the oil and gas industry. Eventually settling in Calgary in 2002, Shawna was always fast to make new friends, being very approachable and open-hearted. An adventurous spirit, Shawna loved to travel and explore new places including California, Mexico, Cuba, and Quebec. Among her favourite activities were going for drives in and around the city, enjoying the company of her family and friends, collecting plush animals, and tending to her garden.

A diligent worker, Shawna enjoyed an accomplished fourteen-year career at ATB Financial. She took great pride in keeping a clean and happy home and loved her two cats and newly adopted dog. She relished quiet mornings and enjoyed watching the children at the school across the street play as she savoured her coffee. She loved the sound and smell of the rain and watching thunderstorms. Her calm demeanour and positive outlook on life made her a strong and resilient spirit, and a true inspiration to those around her. She was always quick to smile and truly appreciated the simple pleasures in life.

Shawna was predeceased by her father-in-law, Ray Rose, and grandparents, Mervin and Florence Hessdorfer, and Philip and Edna Poleschuk.
