Obituary of Christopher (Chris) Lennox Coombes

June 8, 1949 – Montreal, Quebec

October 14, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Christopher Lennox (Chris) Coombes on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the age of 73 years.

Christopher was an inquisitive person.

He attended Valois Park Elementary, Lindsay Place High School, and SAIT where he pursued a degree in heavy duty mechanics. He worked at CP Angus Shops and Prudential Steel.

In his young life, he enjoyed cabin life during the summer, swimming, and fishing with his father. He enjoyed reading, playing bridge, cooking meals and was an active member of the Stirling Men’s Team for many years.

Chris is survived by his mother Olive Coombes, half-sister Jennifer Mets, and cousins Alison and Meredith MacKean. He was predeceased by his father Walter Coombes and his former wife Linda Coombes.

A Celebration of Chris’ Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 3:00 p.m.  Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
