Obituary of Mary Katherine Krpan

It is with sadness that the family of Mary Katherine Krpan announces her passing on Friday, October 14, 2022 at the age of 86 years.

Mary is survived by her husband John A Stone (PEng); her brother and sister-in-law, Michael M Krpan (PEng) and Eugenia; a nephew, nieces and their families; and John’s daughters, Evelyn (Troy) and Sarah (David).

Mary was predeceased by her parents and brother John Krpan (PEng). 

Mary graduated from the University of Alberta with B Ed and BA degrees.  She began her teaching career with the Calgary Board of Education.  She was a teacher and Principal with the Edmonton Catholic School Board, and during that time she taught for two years for the Dept. of National Defense in Lahr, West Germany.  She spent the first ten years of retirement with her husband at Lake Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico where she taught English to Mexican children.  The remainder of their retirement years were spent in Calgary.
