Obituary of Keith Seeney

March 28, 1930 – Havelock, Ontario

October 15, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Douglas Keith Seeney, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the age of 92 years.

Keith was born the second oldest of four children to Fred and Mary Elizabeth Seeney. Following in his father’s footsteps, who worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway for 51 years, Keith commenced working for CPR at the age of 17 as an Assistant Express Agent in Milton, Ontario. His career spanned some 44 years where he worked various positions, primarily in the Transportation Department, ranging from a Train Order Operator to the Chief of Transportation for the Eastern Region. He once was heard to say, or boast, “not bad for a guy with a grade 8 education”. He was extremely hard working and very proud and grateful to have worked for Canadian Pacific Railway. Keith retired in 1991 and travelled the world with the person he most adored, his loving wife Betty, until her passing in 2005.

Keith is survived by his son Scott, (Carol Graham) of Calgary, AB, his daughter Jennifer (Dave Herrick) of Calgary, AB, and his grandchildren, Allyson of Calgary, AB, and Jessica of Kamloops, BC. In keeping with Keith’s wishes there will not be a Funeral service.

Keith’s mother, sister and nephew all passed away from Huntington disease and he was a passionate contributor to the Huntington Society of Canada. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Huntington Society of Canada, #400, 151 Frederick Street, Kitchener, ON N2H 2M2 Telephone: 1 (800) 998 – 7398 ext. 121, or (519) 749 – 7063, https://www.huntingtonsociety.ca/yes-i-want-to-donate/
