Obituary of Eleanor Ruth Bannister

Eleanor Bannister (nee Holland), of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the age of 88 years, with her son Jeff by her side.
Eleanor was born in Calgary, AB on March 11, 1934. She was a feisty and energetic woman, who was extremely active. She loved skiing in the mountains and taking long walks in nature – her favourite was Fish Creek Park. She was an avid cyclist and completed a European bike tour during her life.
She spent many hours volunteering her time with various organizations: Calgary Ski Club, Theatre Calgary, Feed the Hungry and the Calgary Food Bank. Her passion and presence for helping others never went unnoticed.
Eleanor was predeceased by her father Adolf in 1954, her mother Olga in 1980, her brother Art in 1997, her sister Ella in 2007, and her nephew Brant in 2015.
Eleanor is survived by a number of family and friends who will miss her dearly. Those family and friends are invited to a Gathering to celebrate our amazing Eleanor.
