Robert Mann of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the age of 92 years.

 

Robert was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on September 5, 1930. He immigrated to Montreal, QC in 1960, and 1976 to Calgary, AB.

 

Robert joined the South African Army and was stationed in South Africa where he excelled to the rank of Corporal. Robert enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his younger years and had won some trophies for his speed trials.

 

Robert married the love of his life Beverley Anne in 1967 and took on the role of dad to her young son Steve.

 

Robert accomplished many things throughout his life and was particularly proud to serve his country (South Africa). He was also proud of the many carvings he created later in life. He was a member of the Ogden Carving Club and the Seniors Kirby Center in Calgary. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed travelling with Beverley and Steve. On one particular occasion, Robert and Beverley travelled to Hawaii. Robert also travelled back to South Africa on two occasions.

 

Robert is survived by his son Steven (Debbie); grandsons, Donald, and Tim (Samantha), granddaughters, Candyce (Natia), and Kayla (JD), and great-grandchildren, Ryder, Hudson & Carter. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Carole and Susan (Wayne), as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. He was predeceased by his loving wife Beverley, grandson Sam, his parents, Edith Mann & Alexander Mann, sister Mona in South Africa, his brother-in-law Walter Bashucki, his mother-in-law Violet Lewery and father-in-law Leslie Lewery.
