Obituary of Norma Virginia Malernee (nee Calhoon)

Norma Malernee of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the age of 96 years.

Norma was raised in Colorado, USA.  She married her high school sweetheart, James Kent Malernee, in 1945. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Kent worked in the oil and gas industry. Norma and Kent moved their family to Calgary in 1963, where they have lived ever since.

Norma loved music and enjoyed playing the clarinet. She also loved her family of two boys and a girl, and husband.  Her daughter passed in 1982, and she lost her husband in 2019. She is survived by James Kent, Jr., who lives in Vail, Colorado, and Robert Bruce, who still resides in Calgary, as well as her niece, Kristen McCrary, from Dallas.
