Obituary of Tranquillo Pigato
June 5, 1935 – Marostica, Italy
October 20, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
Tranquillo Pigato, beloved husband of Maria Pigato (nee Corasiniti), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the age of 87 years.
Tranquillo was born on June 5, 1935, in Marostica, Italy, and immigrated to Canada in May 1957. He married the love of his life Maria Corasiniti on November 11, 1972. This upcoming November would have marked their 50th wedding anniversary. Tranquillo was a strong and loving man who would always help family and friends when they needed him. He was a hard worker much of his life working as a tile setter and brick layer for many years and was particularly proud of his family and five grandchildren.
Tranquillo enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, taking walks outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, Nonno and friend who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered in our hearts always and forever. He will be most remembered for his generosity, dedication to his work, the numerous stories he told, his big heart, cute smile that brightened up our day and the joy it brought him to see his family and grandchildren.
Besides his loving wife Maria, Tranquillo is survived by his three daughters, Marisa Costante, Diana (Victor) Hinton, and Sandra Pigato all of Calgary; and five grandchildren, Francesca, Isabella, Lorenza, Sereno, and Giordano. Tranquillo is also survived by his one brother Mario, one sister Bertilia both of Marostica, Italy, and sister-in-law Assunta Ranieri, brothers-in-law, Antonio Ranieri, and Gregorio Mungo all of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tranquillo was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Maria Pigato; brother Valentino, two sisters, Lisetta, and Teresina; and sister-in-law Gregorina Mungo.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
