January 5, 1931 – Huxley, Alberta December 29, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Alice Mary Rankin passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Alice was a very kind and compassionate woman. She loved to travel, take pictures and share her adventures. Alice loved watching baseball, especially the World Series and the Toronto Blue Jays was her favourite team. She was always so appreciative and showed this through her volunteer work at the Heart and Stroke Foundation for several years. Alice had many friends and loved having them over for a meal, coffee or a glass of wine! Alice is survived by her children, Terry, Janice (Jack), and Brad (Teresa); grandchildren, Dustin, Kelsey, and Kurtis; great-grandson Lochlan; brother Leonard (Betty); nieces and nephews, Diana (Willis), Barry (Linda), Sandy and Randy; and many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Poffenroth; as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Stella and Fred Koch. We will all remember that Jack would always say goodbye with: “See ya later alligator.”, Alice never failed to respond with, “In a while crocodile!” We are all so very thankful to have had her in our lives. She will be dearly missed. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY () on Monday, January 7, 2019 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
