Obituary of Marilyn Rogers Blair

October 26, 1932 – Moncton, New Brunswick

October 27, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Marilyn Blair, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend left us on Thursday October 27, 2022, at the age of 90 years.

Marilyn was born in Moncton, NB, on October 26, 1932.  She was the oldest of two children.  Marilyn graduated in nursing from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal.  She nursed in Bermuda for a period of time and always talked about those memories fondly.  She met the love of her life, Andy, in Montreal and they married November 1, 1958. They lived in many different places such as Quebec, West Virginia, Ontario, Saudi Arabia, Texas, Florida, Arizona, and Alberta, and experienced many years of adventures throughout their 64 years of marriage. The final family move was to Calgary in 1976.  Marilyn loved travel, adventure, music, dancing, bridge, curling, laughing, crocheting, violin, and most passionately, her family.  

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Andy, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nora and Steve Kiser, Bev and Mark Janisch, and Heather Chadwick; grandchildren, Stephanie, Erika, Scott, Blair and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Kaitlyn, Abby, Hollie, Johnny, Jessie, Joey, Brooklyn, and Blakely.  Marilyn is also survived by her brother Bruce, as well as nephews, cousins, and friends.  Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Harold; and her grandson, Andy Kiser.

The family is having a private family gathering on Saturday November 4, 2022, to celebrate the life well lived of Marilyn. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at Lake Bonavista Village Retirement, Auburn Heights Retirement Residence, and AgeCare Seton for their care and kindness during Marilyn’s time with them.
