Obituary of William Meisner

November 16, 1928 - October 29, 2022

William “Bill” Meisner, formerly of Lockwood, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the age of 93 years.

For over forty years, Bill worked for CP Rail, as a Roadmaster. With Freida by his side, they lived in numerous locations to accommodate Bill’s work, and eventually retired in 1983. Bill developed a passion for buying, fixing, and restoring clocks. He never had one that he couldn’t fix. If you had a broken watch or clock, it went to Bill and it always came back ticking perfectly. He enjoyed playing cards, putting together puzzles, and watching sports, especially the Calgary Flames.

Bill is survived by his loving daughter Penny, and the joys of his life, his grandchildren, Hannah, Joshua, and Matthew. Bill is also survived by his siblings, Bob (Esther) Meisner, Elsie (Abe) Suderman, Esther (Corney) Harmes; sisters-in-law, Mary Patrick and Ann Schuster, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bill is predeceased by his devoted wife of 63 years Freida, his parents, Jacob and Lydia Meisner; sister Freida Tebb, brother Emil Meisner, father and mother-in-law, Karl and Apollonia Lesko; brothers and sisters-in-law, Julia (Rudy) Ekes, Carrie (Wallace) Henry, George Patrick, Ed (Gwen) Lesko, Merv Schuster, and Betty (Mel) Zalopski. Bill will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and sweet man.

A Family Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Regina, SK, at a later date. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.

In living memory of William Meisner, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, Ab t2x 3j3, Telephone: 403-256-9575.
