Obituary of Norma Jane MacLeod

August 24, 1957 – Regina, Saskatchewan

October 30, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma Jane MacLeod on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the age of 65.

Norma was born on August 24, 1957, to Luella and William Colhoun in Regina, SK. In the early 80’s, Norma moved to Calgary, AB, where she met her husband, Murray. Her biggest accomplishment was building an extraordinary life with her husband Murray and their two children Kayley and Mason.

In the spring of 2020, Norma and Murray built a lake house, which became Norma’s sanctuary throughout her battle with cancer. When she wasn’t enjoying time at the lake, Norma loved spending time with her family, pups (Bruin and Garth), and granddogs. Norma loved family vacations, especially to Hawaii.

Norma is survived by her loving husband of thirty-three years, Murray, daughter Kayley (Devin), son Mason (Mairi), her brothers and sisters, Cherene Schiller, Dave (Judy) Colhoun, Carol (Danny) Wilson, and Doug (Cheryl) Colhoun; and her extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Norma was predeceased by her parents, Luella Day and William Colhoun; stepfather Chester Day, and in-laws, Merle and Rod MacLeod.

We would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Norma’s amazing healthcare team at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre including all doctors, nurses, and caregivers involved in her treatments, as well as the palliative home care team.
