Charles was a great friend and my mentor. I always admired his wisdom and enjoyed his company over chinese food.

I read with deep regret the notice of Charles’s passing. I simply want to offer my sincere sympathy to Gerry, David and the other members of the Barlow family.

Charles was a fine person—very intelligent, with a keen sense of humour. He had great business sense; and I have fond memories of many conversations with Charles and his business partner, Jack MacKenzie, as well as of our work together as members of the board of Canadian Mountain Holidays Ltd.

I am sorry that I will be out of town on the day of the Celebration of Life for Charles and Chuck. Chuck’s early passing was also very regrettable.
