Obituary of Barbara HAMILTON

September 7, 1922 – Rokycany, Czech Republic May 26, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Barbara Hamilton (nee Macejova) of Calgary, Alberta passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the age of 96 years. Barbara was born in Rokycany, Czech Republic, on September 7, 1922. She immigrated to Canada in 1932 and settled in Alix, Alberta. She met her husband Howard (Pip) Hamilton, in Calgary at Penley’s Dance Hall in 1946, where he was playing in the band. Barbara loved to dance. They married in 1947. Barbara and Pip had many happy years together in Calgary and Sylvan Lake. Barbara’s favourite pastimes were gardening, walking along the lakefront at Sylvan Lake, visiting the west coast and socializing with her friends. Barbara is survived by her two daughters, Pat and June and two sons, Doug and Mike; also by her grandchildren, Scott and Geoff Wildeman, Nicole and Chris Hamilton, and Colleen Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Tia and Trissa. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Howard (Pip) and by her two brothers Mike and Andy. Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY () on Monday, June, 3, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
