Condolences
I met Terry when he and I both played on a 70+ hockey team, at that time he had been fighting cancer for @ 2 years, He insisted on living what he called a normal life throughout his fight and that of his wife, Lavern who also developed cancer. Despite their fight against cancer they both continued memberships with various activities especially the Legion where every year they volunteered to sell poppies and both supported and volunteered with several other charitable and professional organizations. Terry was a very good athlete, an excellent fast ball player, a superb golfer who good sink any putt within 30 feet of the flag on any course, a solid hockey player and curling team member. In his younger days he had hunted, fished and helped his grand father and father who operated the local newspaper in his hometown doing many odd jobs including type-setting. He left home at 17 to attend the U of C and graduated 4 years later with Chemical Engineering degree, working in Canada, Overseas and the USA and established his own consulting company prior to an active retirement of RV travels, sports, and volunteering with Lavern. We became good friends. Terry was a quiet, reserved person, he and Lavern were an excellent team both believed in "giving back" especially to Children's Aide Organizations where they both volunteered time and donations. The sad part is they both developed Cancer and Lavern died several years prior to Terry. I had the chance to play hockey and golf with Terry, sit down to many meals and backyard BBQ's with both Terry and Laverne and usually with a small group of friends. Terry and Lavern were perfect for each other, they enjoyed the same life style, loved RVing, were good conversationalists and good people. Terry missed Lavern tremendously but they are now united, once again together, rest in peace Terry, you and Laverne were a top notch friends. Pam, our family and me miss you both.
