Obituary of Yukie Ikeda

Yukie Ikeda passed away peacefully at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary, AB on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the age of 96 years.  

Yukie was born in Yokohama City, Japan on April 3, 1926. She was the fourth of six children born to Chūzou and Michi Yokoyama. After her marriage, Yukie lived in Saitama prefecture with her husband, until his passing. Yukie came to Canada to live with her daughter in January 2013 and enjoyed her life in Calgary, joining the Japanese “kotobukikai” club. 

She is survived by her daughter, Chieko (Masao), and two granddaughters, Hazuki, and Eri (Thomas). She is predeceased by her husband, Masutaro.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
