Obituary of Sharron Ann Dorscher

November 12, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Sharron Dorscher of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the age of 81 years.

 

Sharron graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Lethbridge, and shortly after obtained her secretary diploma from Lethbridge Junior College. She met her husband, Ken at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. They wed on December 29, 1964 and together raised their four children. Sharron especially treasured her time with her children and grandchildren and extended family.

 

Sharron was an active member of St. Cecilia’s parish. She supported both the CWL and Knights of Columbus.  Sharron worked as a secretary at Bishop Grandin High School from 1974 to 1980 and Altel Data (Telus), as a Data Analyst Client Solutions from 1980 to 2000 when she retired. Sharron enjoyed cross stitching, reading, playing cards, puzzles, and travel.

 

Sharron is survived by her son Kim Dorscher (Ivania), daughters, Lori (Loren) Henneigh and Karen Dorscher (Dean Turner); and grandchildren, Steven, Ashley, Amanda, Shae-Lynn, Joseph (Joey), and Samira. She is also survived by her brother Michael Bartram (Irene), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sharron was predeceased by her husband Ken Dorscher, son Lee, sister Carol, and parents, Irene and H.H (Mike) Bartram.

 

Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers and Tributes on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB).

 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB) with reception to follow at the parish hall.

 

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Sharron's service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.

The Dorscher family wishes to thank the AHS Staff and Physicians at Peter Lougheed Unit 42, for their care and compassion; Father Paul Raj for his spiritual guidance; Sharron’s many friends from St. Cecilia’s parish for their ongoing support and encouragement over this difficult period of time.
