Obituary of Rick Pearn

Richard W. Pearn was born in Vulcan, AB on February 2, 1949.  At 21, Richard joined the Air Force of the Canadian Military. He retired from the military in 1992 at the age of 43, while based in Cold Lake, AB. Richard traveled all over the world during his military career as a Peacekeeper. He was a radio operator and DJ in CFS Alert Nunavut. After his military career, Richard worked as a security guard for the Commissionaires and at Canadian Tire, until he retired at 67.

 Richard’s hobbies included the Star Trek fan club (being born in Vulcan it was a given that his favorite was Mr Spock). Throughout his military career, Richard was also a volunteer for The Boy Scouts of Canada.

Richard is survived by his daughter Annie Ruth Victoria of Winnipeg, MB, and son Mark Christopher of Edmonton AB. Richard moved to Calgary, AB in 2000 and continued to room with his friends Robert (passed away June 14, 2022) and Catherine Provencher, along with her children, Amanda, Sean and Erica, until he passed away on November 12, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Heritage, 1708, 16th Avenue N, across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
