Obituary of Jeanette Elaine Ryz
May 22, 1945 – Grandview, Manitoba
November 13, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
Jeanette Ryz (nee Drebit), beloved wife of the late Stanley Ryz, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the age of 77 years.
Jeanette was born in Grandview, MB, on May 22, 1945. She moved to the City of Dauphin, Manitoba to complete her High School and embark on her first job with Manitoba Telephone Systems.
While residing in Dauphin she met her late Husband, Stan. They were married on September 19, 1964. They began raising a family in 1967 with the arrival of their daughter Shauna, and the youngest Alan being born in 1970.
Jeanette and Stan were partners in Stan-Jen Holsteins, a dairy farm north of Dauphin. Jeanette received a crash course in farming, being a “City Girl”, and cherished the lifestyle, neighbors and the challenges farming possessed.
In 1989 Jeanette and Stan moved to the City of Calgary to be with their children who had relocated to go to school and begin their careers. In Calgary Jeanette worked as an Office Manager for a Physiotherapy clinic, until her retirement in 2009.
Retirement allowed Jeanette to spend precious time with her family, friends, and her Granddaughter Payton, Jeanette’s “Pride and Joy”. Nana Jen Jen and Paydee spent endless hours visiting, playing games, debating who was cheating, having snacks, and enjoying the backyard. Jeanette cherished every second with her Granddaughter.
Jeanette enjoyed travelling in her retirement. Spending time with her family in Mexico and various USA cities. Her favorite destination was Hawaii. In Hawaii she would spend time with her dear friends Barry and Diane Charchun.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter Shauna Ryz of Calgary, her son Alan Ryz, daughter-in-law Dionne Ryz and granddaughter Payton Ryz of Calgary. Jeanette is also survived by her brother Gerry Drebit of Calgary, and numerous in-laws, nephews, and nieces.
Jeanette was predeceased by her husband Stanley, Parents Matthew and Jessie Drebit, and brother Ed Drebit.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
